What Does it Cost to Ship an Order?

Shipping charges are not included in our standard pricing. There are special quotations that include items at a delivered (FOB Destination) price. Please refer to your quotation carefully.

Our shipping team has negotiated discounts with FEDEX for small ground shipments.  These charges are added to your individual invoice.  If requested we can also ship & invoice Collect to a customer’s direct UPS or FedEx account number.

We also deal with a host of logistic brokers who offer favorable price quotes on LTL and TL (truckload) shipments.    For any order resulting in a dedicated truck, we compare a minimum of (3) rates from various sources and pass along the best pricing for freight to you.  These freight terms are typically prepaid and subsequently invoiced unless other arrangements are prearranged.

Finishing Systems reserves the right to select the most economical way of shipping your packages and orders.  From time to time this may mean holding some items on an order until the order can ship complete.    Of course, we will honor any customer’s individual requests concerning partials or complete shipments.

Minimum Order Charge

Abrasives and Parts: $75 Minimum order

Contractual Job Shop Work:  $150 minimum lot charge

When Will I Receive My Order?

Finishing Systems strives to ship all orders in a timely fashion.  We ship most stock orders the same day, when placed before 12:00 PM ET or next day.

We are a growing company and make every effort to maintain adequate inventories to supply your needs.  Occasionally your order may require drop shipping which we do as needed in order to fill your requirements in a timely fashion.  We will advise you of this at the time of ordering.

Please allow additional time for shipments to U.S. territories, P.O. boxes, or military APO/FPO addresses. Items that ship by truck may take an additional 4-5 days.

Expedited and additional shipping options are available, at an additional cost, by contacting us, subject to in stock status of the items.

Delivery of Machinery, Paint Booths, Blast Rooms & Oversized Items:

Oversize items must ship by truck and may incur additional handling fees for residential deliveries.  In most cases these freight charges are quoted in advance.  Some of our manufacturers supply a release form requiring completion prior to shipment.  This form verifies all shipping information including address, contact name(s), and contact information. It also confirms special shipping or delivery instructions.

Where Does Finishing Systems Ship?

Finishing Systems ships throughout the US and Canada and has shipped to countries worldwide. International shipments may be arranged through the proper export broker of the customer’s choosing.
International shipments are subject to import fees, duties, and taxes (which are levied once a shipment reaches the destination country) in addition to the brokerage fees/custom clearance charges that may be imposed by the carrier. These charges must be borne by the recipient. Finishing Systems has no control over these charges and cannot predict what they might be.

If an international shipment is refused and/or returned, any taxes, duties, custom fees, brokerage fees, or shipping charges incurred from this return will be the responsibility of the customer. Due to our extremely low negotiated shipping rates, additional charges may apply. International orders must be place over the phone and paid for, via wire transfer, prior to the shipment.

Will I Need to be Present to Sign for my Package?

Most shipments will require a signature upon delivery.  Someone must be at the shipping address in order to receive the shipment, inspect for damage and sign for its receipt. Returns & Cancellations

All request for returns must be requested within 30 days of receipt of your order.  Returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee and return freight must be paid by customer. First, please request a RMA (Return Material Authorization) from customer service.   We will make every attempt to accommodate returns and replacements.

Returned products must be in original packaging, unused, undamaged and in saleable condition. Proof of purchase is required in all cases. Product returns may be denied or made subject to additional restocking fees and other charges by Finishing Systems.

After receiving approval for return and are shipping the product:

  • Carefully package the item(s) and include a copy of the packing slip.
  • Write the reason for returning the product on your packing slip; if the packing slip is not available, please provide the purchase date, the original invoice number and the item number for the product.
  • Indicate whether you would like a replacement product or a credit.
  • We do not issue cash refunds.  Credit can be applied to your account.
  • Ship the package to Finishing Systems or to the address provided you by customer service.
  • Please prepay shipping – We do not accept Cash on Delivery (C.O.D.s).

Custom orders / equipment are sold on a “Final Sale” basis only. No cancellations, returns, refunds or credits are allowed.

Finishing Systems Cancellation Instructions

Due to the speed we fulfill your requests, we may be unable to cancel orders for immediate shipment. If your order is backordered or not shipping for two or more business days, please contact customer service and we will do everything we can to accommodate your request.

Cancellations for equipment and custom designed equipment are subject to the cancellation policies in effect for a given manufacturer.

What if an Item is Damaged or Missing Upon Delivery?

Damaged in transit: If a shipment arrives and there is noticeable damage to the package, or if items are missing from your order, please keep the original shipping material (cardboard box, mailer, pallet, etc) so that we may issue a damage claim with the carrier.  Please note on the bill of lading or with the delivery person any noticeable damage. Contact us immediately and do not dispose of the shipping materials or return the merchandise without going through these steps, as all carriers require an onsite inspection of most damaged shipments before the issuance of a credit.

Missing items: All missing items claims must be reported within (5) five business days of delivery. Contact us to report a missing item from your shipment. Beyond that time we cannot be liable for shipment omissions.

Machinery, and other oversized items shipped by truck: Please thoroughly inspect the item(s) upon delivery. Ensure the item is the correct model, in operable condition, and not damaged. Do not sign the delivery manifest prior to a complete inspection. Once you sign for the item, you are accepting the product as is.

If the item is damaged, it is IMPORTANT to make a notation on the delivery manifest, and have the person delivering the merchandise sign as well. Contact us within 48 business hours to report the damage.

How Long Will it Take for Me to Receive My Order?

We make every attempt to deliver your order based upon the shipping time indicated on our quote.
Please allow additional time for shipments to PO boxes, and U.S. territories. LTL / truck shipments generally take 4 to 5 days.

How Can I Track My Order?

Once an order has shipped out, we will send you an e-mail with the tracking number. Just click on the link and it will take you to the carrier’s website.

What Are the Delivery Requirements
